I had the honor again of escorting Ella to the Father-Daughter Dance sponsored by the local Girl Scout Troops. And this year’s event was one of my favorites so far.
After dinner, Ella and I arrived at the dance to a red carpet walkway and paparazzi taking pictures of all the guests. So Hollywood. We had a blast hamming it up for all the photographers and “fans”. Inside we had raffles to enter, a photo booth to enjoy, and cupcakes to eat. And of course, a DJ was there the whole night making sure the dance floor was packed. Ella could easily dance all night, I think.
Last year the girls ran off in packs, leaving the Dads to sit around the edge of the dance floor, awkwardly checking our phones. (Reminds me of my middle school dance experiences.) But this year, Ella stayed with me the entire time (her choice), which totally warmed my heart. We had an amazing evening, even making it home in time to tell everyone all about it.
