One night we did get out of the house. We spent a lovely afternoon down at Anne Springs Close Greenway, first doing a photo shoot for Tracy and her family (I’ll do a separate post with some of those shots) and then spending lots of time exploring. The kids loved running back and forth on and jumping up and down on the suspension bridge (getting to the suspension bridge was the carrot we dangled in front of my 3 handsome nephews to get them to cooperate for our long photo shoot). They also threw rocks into the creek, checked out the cabins, and looked at the animals (horses, goats, sheep, donkeys). Once the sun started setting, we headed to Brixx for dinner and it was actually warm enough (barely) to eat outside on their beautiful patio. It was a perfect night—so perfect that for a small moment we almost had Tracy and Ken convinced that they should move up here. A girl can dream, right? :)

Thanksgiving
My sister Tracy and her family came to visit us over the Thanksgiving weekend, a long overdue visit I daresay (over a year since our families had seen each other and over two years since they’d been here—can that be right??). Anyways, that’s neither here nor there, we’re very glad they stopped here to hang with us for a few days over the long weekend. They actually drove in on Thanksgiving day and that was day 6 or 7 of their trip away from home so, needless to say, I was in charge of all of the Thanksgiving grub. As such, I was too busy with food prep, etc., to actually take any pictures of our Thanksgiving festivities. The rest of the weekend, we really just spent hanging out. The weather was nice so the kids played outside together a ton. Jonathan and Ken spent half a day installing my new all glass chandelier (thank you, boys!). And Tracy and I chatted like old times.
