1st Grade Winter Performance

In the week leading up to winter break, the entire first grade—including our boy Jack—gave a performance of holiday songs from around the world, much in the same manner as Ella’s 1st grade winter performance a few years ago.  Jack’s 1st grade class performance, however, was quite moving, and I know I wasn’t the only one taking it all in with a few tears.  The performance was just four days after the devastating Sandy Hook Elementary tragedy.  All of the parents, family, and friends in attendance looked at each and every beautiful little 1st grader standing up on stage performing with our hearts full of love yet broken at the same time for the parents, family, and friends who would not be watching their sweet 1st grader sing songs of joy and cheer.

{pointing to dad, i think saying “a merry christmas to you…” from the song mele kalikimaka.}

{doing his “dance” during the hannukah candles song.}

{jack's such a great reader, he was the one selected from his class to read the intro to one of the songs...not quite sure why i'm gettin' nuttin' for christmas was the song our boy introduced... ;) }

{and the sign language version of josh groban's believe.  ella learned this, too.}
